WhereInSconsin is a geography quiz game. We never sell your data, and the game itself has no analytics SDKs. The free version shows banner ads (details below); a one-time purchase removes them. This page describes the data the app handles.
You can use the entire game without creating an account. In that case everything — your scores, streaks, and review progress — is stored only on your device and never sent anywhere.
Accounts are optional and exist to power leaderboards and cross-device progress backup. If you sign up, our server stores:
The free version shows banner ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier to serve and measure ads; where the law requires it, the app asks for consent first. Ad serving is completely separate from game accounts — we never share your email, username, or gameplay with advertisers. You can remove ads permanently with a one-time in-app purchase, which is processed by the app store; we never see your payment details. For how Google uses ad data, see Google's advertising policy.
Like nearly every online service, our servers briefly process IP addresses to serve requests and rate-limit abuse (for example, repeated failed logins). We run on Cloudflare infrastructure in the United States.
Signing out removes your session from your device. To delete your account and everything associated with it, email support@whereinsconsin.com from the account's email address and we'll remove it.
The app is not directed at children under 13. Accounts simply require an email address; we knowingly collect nothing else from anyone, child or adult.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date.
